Rather than ring our Helpline, you may decide that you need to see a Solicitor.
Employment law is a complex and rapidly changing area of the law, and you should ideally only engage a solicitor who specialises in this area of law. Indeed some law firms go further to specialise in certain aspects of employment, for example Health and Safety.
Many law firms will offer you some initial advice free of charge - do check this when you make contact.
Some, but not all, solicitors will agree a "no win, no fee" arrangement for your claim. Again, do check this possibility. Even with "no win, no fee", you are likely to be required to pay expenses incurred.
If you are concerned about legal costs, it will pay you to look at your Insurance policies for your home/contents or your car insurance. In recent years, legal expenses cover has been added to many domestic and car policies. This means that you could in fact be covered for the costs of taking a claim to court or tribunal.
Check your policy and speak to your Insurer or Broker to get the situation clarified.
